The construction was completed during the reign of Mirja Raja Jai Singh. Made of marble and red sandstone, its imposing walls girdle a hidden paradise of art and architecture. The cultural heritage of Rajasthan finds culmination in the magnificent aura of Amber. The inner walls of this exquisite palace flaunt beautiful paintings, engravings, mirror settings and precious stones. The Maota Lake in the foreground alluringly beckons curious travellers and seems to whisper, “Come, explore the antiquity of Amer.” Standing tall against the onslaughts of nature and man for the last 7 centuries, this fort has been well-preserved till date.
