“Who does not like to step back into history? With Maharajas’ Express you surely can!
One such destination is the famous Jurassic Park of India- Balasinor, which is home to the one of the largest dinosaur fossil sites in the world. Formerly a princely state of the Babi dynasty, Balasinor is a town located in the Kheda district, in Gujarat.

The Raiyoli Dinosaur Fossil Excavation Site consists of one of the world’s largest collections of dinosaur remains. To stand amidst fossilized dinosaur eggs, bones and skeleton that existed some 65 million years ago sends ripples of excitement through the tourists.

Apart from being the dinosaur land Balasinor also has many other prominent places to visit such as Timba Tuva a natural hot water sulphur spring that has the curative powers to cure diseases like arthritis and rheumatism. The Ambaji Temple and the Wanakbori Dam are also among the few other places one must catch a glimpse of in that humble town.

Another highlight is the renowned city of Champaner which became the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 and is located about 50 km away from Balasinor. It is known for well-preserved old Hindu and Jain temples. There are many more things that make Balasinor a wonderful place to visit & we would love for you to share them with us!”
