India is a vast and exotic land with endless history encompassed with the hubbub of cosmopolitanism and an almost undiscovered rural backdrop. Little surprise it has always enchanted tourists of varied interests. The Maharajas Express’ takes you to this land of a thousand languages and a land of mystery and romance in style. The Maharajas’ Express Train route has been planned in such a way so as to present all the myriad colours of the country’s rich culture and heritage. The idea that it is possible to explore the best corners of our beautiful country, all the while in the world’s best train, nestled in the lap of luxury makes way for an opulent experience beyond imagination.
The Indian Panorama vacation begins in Delhi, the city of countless battles and countless rulers. After a brief welcoming ceremony at the good old Safdarjung Railway Station and brunch onboard, we commence our way towards a truly mesmerizing vista of an ancient corner of the world. We travel from the capital of India to the capital of Rajasthan. The town of Jaipur is a beloved tourist spot for many Indians, and is often cited as one of the must-see cities of Western India. Also known as the ‘pink city of India’ it is known for its handicrafts and showmanship. Here we shall be visiting the Amber fort and have dinner at an exclusive venue. Onward, we will be going to Ranthambore — Fatehpur Sikri. There we shall be taking a very special safari trip through the Ranthambore National Park and may also catch a glimpse of the elusive tiger. Next stop is Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and once the capital of the Indian ruler, Akbar, the Great. After that we will visit the fabled city of Agra, home to one of the seven wonders in the world, The Taj Mahal. Next on the list are Orchha and Khajuraho, both fine examples of India’s old and medieval past. Their architecture has been described as stunning with hand carved rock structures and murals that make you step back and simply marvel at the time that inspired them. Our final stop before we make our way back, is Varanasi. One of the oldest inhabited cities of all time, it truly is a pleasure to be there. It is known for its temples and for its holiness. We promise you that when it comes to the top luxury train tours in India, The Maharajas’ Express is a befitting close to a spectacular journey.
