Travel like a king aboard the Maharajas’ Express

Travelling aboard the Maharajas’ Express is undoubtedly an experience of unmatched luxury and opulence. The more than half-a-mile long train comprises 20 deluxe rooms, 18 junior suites, 4 suites and one large presidential suite with a total capacity of just 88 passengers. Each room on the train has attached bathroom replete with modern fittings like showers, faucets and other imported bathroom fittings.

Also, the rooms have been custom fitted with large picturesque windows to offer unhindered views of the external world to passengers. All guest cabins have air conditioning for the comfort of the passengers and offer individual privacy to all travelers. All cabins are well equipped with modern amenities like DVD players, LCD TV, 24×7 internet, international dialing facility and hot & cold running water amongst others.

The highlight of the train is its uber-luxurious presidential suite consisting of two individual bedrooms, with attached bathroom and a large living room. The size of the suite spans 448 square feet replete with double & twin bed, sofa set, study table, a complimentary mini bar and several other amenities.

In addition to its luxurious cabins, the Maharajas’ Express boasts of two in-house restaurants, a full-fledged bar which also acts as observational lounge & recreational area. The restaurants named Mayur Mahal and Rang Mahal serve a long list of Indian and International cuisines with the chefs taking extra care to provide customized menus to suit the choice of each guest. The bar aptly named as the Rajah Club serves the choicest collection of wine, beer and spirits.

Safari Bar, is replete with game tables and a mini-bar for passengers to relax and unwind during their journey aboard the train. The train also has a souvenir shop for travelers to pick up mementos of their journey back home.
The Maharajas’ Express, true to its name hosts each of its guests as a real king. It organizes off-board  tours to the best of India’s tourist destinations that include world heritage sites, wildlife sanctuaries, ancient temples, palaces and forts amongst others.

The train entered into service in the year 2010 and within a short span of just six years, has won several prestigious awards across the globe which includes The “World’s Leading Luxury Train” award at the World Travel Awards for four consecutive years since 2012. It has also been awarded with The Specialist Train Operators Category Award at Conde Nast Travelers Reader Choice Travel Awards in 2011, and the Best Luxury Train Award at CNBC Travel Awards in the year 2010 and Seven Star Luxury Award 2015.
