Maharajas Express signature journey with Farokh Engineer

“Mr. Farokh Maneksha Engineer is a former Indian cricketer who has played 46 Tests for India and played first-class cricket for Mumbai in India and Lancashire in England.
Mr. Engineer had a 14 year tryst playing cricket as a stylish, aggressive batsman and an agile wicketkeeper. The legendary Brian Statham, Engineer’s Lancashire team mate, has often mentioned that he would have had a lot more wickets if Engineer had kept wickets for him throughout his career. He is currently one of the revered referees with the Indian Premier League.
Apart from being great at the game, Mr. Engineer’s chiseled features and rugged good looks made him an obvious successor to Keith Miller and Denis Compton as a Brylcreem model. This charismatic celebrity also went ahead to be the brand ambassador for luxury car Jaguar Land Rover and also of Lycamobile in the UK. He was the first Indian cricketer to get brand endorsements. However, cricket being his first love he says, as “”I was born to be a one-day player””.
Mr. Engineer would be charming the guests of Maharajas’ Express on a Signature Journey as he joins us for the ‘Gems of India’ tour on 2nd October, 2013.
Being witness to the beauty of the TajMahal is an experience that in itself is spellbinding. Having a charismatic personality such as Mr. Engineer as company would only make the experience better, with a Champagne breakfast at Taj Khema. The Gems of India tour moves ahead from the grandeur of the TajMahal to proceed to the excitement of the Game Drive in the majestic Tiger at Ranthambore and to the historic beauty of the forts of Jaipur.
“”I have been a fan of Mr. Engineer and I know for a fact that our esteemed guests would be delighted to have Mr. Engineer’s company while on the Maharajas’ Express journey””, said a Maharajas’ Express team member.”
