Maharajas’ Express luxury train provides an amazing opportunity for you to experience this intriguing spectacle of light and sound. Guests can enjoy sound and light shows with three different journeys of Maharajas’ Express, in different historic destinations of India. The journey Indian Panorama has sound and light show as an optional activity at the Khajuraho temples on the fifth day of the tour. Another journey, the Indian Splendor, has this show as an optional activity in the glorious city of Udaipur on the sixth day of the tour.The Heritage of India journey offers the show as an activity in Udaipur on the third day of the tour.

The sound and light spectacle in Udaipur is conducted at the magnificent City Palace. This was the first show in India to be privately produced rather than being organized by the government. The program is named as ‘Yash ki Dharohar’, which means Legacy of Honor. The script of the show has been written by Pandit Narendra Mishra, who is the official court poet of the House of Mewar.

This one-hour presentation traces the fascinating journey of the history of Mewar Dynasty, spanning across 1500 years. There are twelve episodes that recreate the commitment and dedication of Bapa Rawal – the dynasty’s founding father, the glory of Chittorgarh Fort and Rani Padmini, and the sacrifice of Panna Dhai. The show further moves along depicting the present formation of Udaipur since the 16th century.

At Khajuraho, Technicolor floodlights will sweep across the famous Western group of temples, as history of the place will be narrated by the master sculptor, with the background of Indian classical music. The show showcases the life of the great Chandela Kings along with stories about the evolution of this unique group of temples from 10th century to the present day. The program is organized by the tourism department in the garden of Western group of temples.

Narrated in the voice of the great Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, the show offers a peek into the era of the great Chandela Kings and the legend and grandeur of the beautiful Khajuraho temples. The fifty-minute presentation is informative as well as entertaining as it demonstrates the importance of the temples, and it takes place in Hindi as well as English.
